review 'State of Terror' by Hillary Rodham Clinton and Louise Penny

Former US President Bill Clinton recently became a novelist because of his collaboration with writer James Patterson. Now, his wife, the former first lady of the United States and former US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has written her debut titled "State of Terror." The international political thriller "State of Horror" is co-authored by Hillary Rodham Clinton and Canadian writer Louise Penney. The new book was released in October 2021 and has topped the US bestseller list.

After four years of chaotic management in American political history, the new government has now been sworn in. Former US President Eric Dunn has stepped down, but the impact of his actions remains to be seen. Douglas Williams was sworn in as the new president of the United States, and Alan Adams was the new secretary of state. Alan is a two-time widower in her fifties and a media tycoon. In order to serve the country, she ceded her empire to her daughter Catherine. However, once Allen begins to take on her new duties, she will face more challenges-whether professional or international... The bombing in London shocked the United Kingdom.

At the same time, in the United States, the diplomat Anahita Dahir received a puzzling text message from an unknown source. Later she realized that this was actually a coded warning about the London explosion. It was followed by a series of bombings-from Paris to Frankfurt-that destroyed Europe. These attacks have led to a new terrorist organization whose mission is to develop their own nuclear weapons, which puts world leaders in a state of terror... At the same time, Allen tried to interpret the former President Dunn’s withdrawal of certain aspects of his tenure. All international policies have led to the current situation. In the process, she had to think about whether Dunn not only abused her power, but also betrayed his country.

Hillary and Louise’s new novel is a fast-paced and timely political thriller that will keep readers involved until the end. Although it is a fictional work, some characters have striking similarities with well-known international political leaders, which makes "State of Terror" even more interesting. More importantly, the author also hinted at more books in the series.
